Hi, I'm Anne!
I’ve loved animals all my life. I’ve had horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and geese. I’ve never forgotten the geese as they were very rude!
I lived in Australia as a child, which is where I found my love of horses which has never changed. I was lucky enough to be able to breed some amazing Arabians who were shown at National and International level. It was such an exciting and happy time in my life, and I met some wonderful people along the way. I only have the one horse now, HS Rafaella (Rafi), who was bred by Shirley and Charlie Watts from the Rolling Stones, and I currently have an adopted ex-racing greyhound called Mac who is settling nicely into his forever sofa.
The dream for this business actually started years ago over a lunchtime chat in a pub with a lovely colleague. We were mapping out our futures, and because animals have always been my passion, we ended up scribbling the very first concept for Anne's Pet Care Service right there on a few pub napkins!
It took a few years before I was in a position to turn those napkin scribbles into reality, but in 2019, I took the leap and launched Anne’s Pet Care Service in Farnham, Surrey, running it alongside my career in the NHS. Upon relocating to Belper in beautiful Derbyshire a couple of years ago and officially "retiring," I decided to keep the business going part-time—focusing purely on doing what I truly love. It’s an amazing place to live, and I am so ready and happy to look after your beautiful fur babies for you with a friendly, reliable, and truly local service.
